Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre has an opportunity for a suitably skilled Audio Visual Systems Engineer to join its Technology Infrastructure and Equipment team.

As our Audio Visual Systems Engineer your primary responsibility will be ensuring all of our event-based technology equipment and infrastructure is functioning, fit for purpose and delivers to our customers’ expectations.

In this role, you will be expected to…

  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults on wide variety of AV equipment
  • Communicate equipment availability using our ‘Out of Service’ procedures
  • Triage any off-site and on-site repairs
  • Recommend and implement life-cycle equipment replacement programs

You will be working closely with our Technology Services crew to ensure you are across equipment requirements, our ICT team when needed as well as liaising with external suppliers when required.

You will also be supporting our team with coaching and training on new equipment and providing advice on solutions to support the team.

Your role has a focus on continuous improvement in ensuring you are proactively recommending opportunities to improve MCEC’s systems and services when it comes to delivering world-class event technology. You will also be involved in capital expenditure projects that enable MCEC to continue to remain as a world leader in event technology.

To be considered for this role it is essential you have CTS qualification or equivalent, an Electrical Test and Tag Certificate and an EWP license. A working background in electronics, specifically in the repair and maintenance of audio visual equipment is also essential. Experience working with AMX and BSS equipment would be advantageous, as would AMX programming experience.
