Within months of launching, in has secured its first contracts with both Cricket and the National Basketball League for and solutions.

Input Media was acquired by GMG, owners of Broadcast and Hyperactive Broadcast, in June. The launch of Input Media Australia has followed that and is the next phase of GMG’s global expansion.

“It’s fair to say we have hit the ground running,” said Chris Law, MD of Input Media Australia. “Input Media launched in Australia with two goals in mind. The first is to support end-to-end broadcast production as part of the overall GMG group offering that sees Input Media Australia providing production expertise with Gearhouse Broadcast, the technical facilities and HyperActive Broadcast, the post production. The second goal is directly beneficial to our clients who don’t have in-house broadcast or production expertise and are looking to improve operational workflows and drive cost efficiencies, particularly at sporting events.”

Cricket Australia is one of Input Media Australia’s first clients who have adopted a live streaming , which offers high end broadcast quality production for events at an affordable cost.

Law said: “More and more sport is being viewed online, via apps or on smart devices and this has created a demand for higher quality digital live streaming production at a reasonable cost to the content owner. This is the solution that we have implemented for Cricket Australia and now forms a key part of our overall production offering.

“Our production and live streaming solutions are unique in Australia. Ideal for sporting federations and indeed all of our clients in live sports, entertainment and events. We offer high production standards at competitive costs across all content creation, capture and distribution. We are able to do this by combining our production expertise with Gearhouse’s facilities and Hyperactive’s post services which means we have the very best specialists delivering the full solution – from venue to screen across all media platforms – leading to significant cost efficiencies.”

Law and the team at Input Media Australia see themselves as partners with their clients, not just suppliers, something that was a key selling point when winning the contract to produce live streaming for selected Cricket Australia matches across the 2017/18 cricket season. Together with Gearhouse Broadcast, the company is also contracted to deliver the full turnkey live match day production across the 2017/18 NBL season and they have also recently been awarded the contract to supply the host broadcast for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 qualifying matches in Australia.

“With an ever changing media landscape we work with our clients to help set a roadmap for the future and provide a model that suits the viewing trends and all key deliverables,” said Law. “The Cricket Australia and National Basketball League contracts were won as we shared a vision for fresh thinking and application of non-traditional production solutions. Both CA and the NBL own their content and are very advanced in their approach to fan engagement and content distribution. They also saw the benefit of having Input Media as the single point of contact across all the service provisions as the key to reliability, successfully implementing innovation and raising the bar on production quality.”
