Harman Professional Solutions announced the InfoComm 2018 debut of the BSS DCP-555 Digital Conferencing Processor, an intelligent audio solution designed specifically for web and audio conferencing in meeting spaces. The DCP-555 provides superior sound processing quality in a template-based solution designed for conference rooms, boardrooms and classrooms.
The BSS DCP-555 Digital Conferencing Processor is the ultimate solution for audio or web conferencing in medium or large meeting spaces, providing industry-leading sound processing and automated mixing of microphones, PC audio, and other audio sources, with acoustic echo cancellation ensuring the meeting is clear and effective. Audio from multiple microphones can be output as a single, optimised signal over USB, making it perfect for web conferencing using the AMX Acendo Core or BYOD applications. With the inclusion of onboard VoIP connectivity, rooms can be equipped with audio conferencing without the need for a separate IP phone in the room.
“BSS intelligent audio processing solutions are renowned for their superior sound quality and advanced capabilities,” says Paul Krizan, Corporate Solutions Manager for Harman Professional Solutions. “The BSS DCP-555 brings that same quality in a template-based solution that IT managers and integrators can easily configure, making it possible to scale to hundreds or thousands of rooms across the enterprise. Because configuration is performed using a web interface with no additional software required, setup can be done easily from any device connected to the same network.”
The DCP-555 can support up to four rooms simultaneously using bidirectional VoIP connections. The DCP-555 also offers a range of onboard I/O connection options, with AES67, BLU link, USB and 16×8 analog audio all built in. This provides easy compatibility with other Harman and third-party audio devices, with GPIO and relays available for simplified control.
To further streamline integration with other Harman devices, the DCP-555 includes built-in microphone tunings and JBL speaker tuning presets, offering simple, IT-centric configuration. When using the DCP-555 along with AMX SVSI networked AV solutions, encoder syncing is available to ensure the audio and video signals are perfectly aligned for an optimal experience without any manual setup. These features allow integrators to easily design and configure rooms with minimal complexity.
“The BSS DCP-555 is a perfect example of what Harman can offer our corporate, education and government clients,” says Shaun Robinson, VP, Corporate, Education and Government Customer Solutions for Harman Professional Solutions. “This takes the industry-leading intelligent audio processing technology we have with BSS and tailors it to the specific needs of audio conferencing applications. We’ve then made that technology extremely simple to configure and easy to integrate with a full Harman solution. This provides the ultimate in conferencing flexibility, drastically reducing both setup time and the amount of potential errors in the programming while still providing premium audio quality.”
